[YF Sunday Worship] 13 November 2016

Hey team!
So, the year is fast coming to an end, huh? It's been a good year serving together, and I'd like to take this brief opportunity to thank all of you for having been such superb team players! For all the passion and dedication ...... from the bottom of my heart, praying this fire will never die :)
Taking this opportunity also to include an all-too-familiar verse, but one which happens to hold a powerful promise, Matthew 6:31-33!
The theme for this Sunday's worship session is ......
YOU.
Not as in you, you, but as in God, You. It's important for all of us to realize who exactly is listening to our voices and music as we worship, who really is the object of all the affection we're proclaiming. The idea is that youths may be more spiritually attuned as in the songs, they refer to God as "You" instead of as a third person. It's to hammer home the point that they're not singing to no one in particular, but there's someone very specific they're singing to, and that someone, is of course Him :)
In the first song we want to recognize "You" as the King above Kings, and declare truths like "Nothing can overcome / the power of Your Name". That's recognizing Him for who He is.
In the second song we want to establish a relationship between "You" and us. That glory and power of His, we are waiting for, neither shaken nor moved.
In the final song we shall be reminded of how there's more to "You" than just glory and power, but also of His love and mercy, and while we wait, we'll also trust in Him, bring Him praise, and with all our souls, bless His name.
Summary: as the songs progress, "You" becomes more than just a powerful entity, with whom we don't really relate, and have a need to get involved with; in fact this "You" is someone we as Christians are waiting for eternal unity with, and this You is one who has influenced our life so much, and one we shall gladly praise and bless for all our days. The goal is to, through Sunday's worship, reduce the distance we may feel between "You" and us, by zooming in on how He is so personal to us.

Well, time to change that!

2) 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) - Matt Redman
3) Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace) - Hillsong
Notes:
- For #1 the focus is on guitars. Also, will probably focus on the chorus and bridge. Building up is not in the plan.
- Keys for all songs to be determined during practice, seeing that there's 1 male and 2 female vocalists in the team.
Shall we all have practice on Saturday? From 9 to 11? AM? Yes, let's.

Prayer Meeting/Service (31/1/16)
Dear all,
This Sunday we are on. Serving the Lord in Youth Force. And this Sunday is a little different, we're doing it like a prayer meeting format where will lead in worship in the beginning and we stay on with some ambient music then sing in between prayers as needed.
So let's get ready for any unplanned maneuvers as we support the prayer service. Let's come prepared so that we could simply soak ourselves in the presence of God as we worship Him.
This Sunday we are on. Serving the Lord in Youth Force. And this Sunday is a little different, we're doing it like a prayer meeting format where will lead in worship in the beginning and we stay on with some ambient music then sing in between prayers as needed.
