Heya everybodeh!

How's the new year treating you?

This year, via the Roots and Wings program, Youth Force will be embarking on a journey to better understand discipleship, through intensive study of the Bible. As accurately outlined in the guide, however, for discipleship study to be effective, it is necessary for us to i) spiritually hunger for God, to yearn to know God and love Him, and ii) to be willing to learn and grow beyond our comfort zone.

Song #1 highlights the significance of the Word of the Lord (truth) in a secular world, and how it leads us to God. Bottom line is, His Word, which the discipleship program is heavily based on, is the key to Him. For further reading on the usage of terms like "fountain", "living water", and "river", refer to Genesis 26,  Deuteronomy 8:7, Jeremiah 2:13, Isaiah 35, Isaiah 41:17-18, John 4, John 7:37-38 etc.

In Song #2, we reiterate our love for the Lord, and His goodness (verse 2). And for such a good Lord, for whom there are 10,000 reasons for our heart to find, in Song #3, we reaffirm our desire to honour Him, worship Him, essentially give our heart to Him (establishing that we spiritually hunger for God, and indirectly that we are willing to grow beyond our comfort zone for Him).

Truly, let's live for Him!

Songs for this Sunday are as follows:

1. All My Fountains - Passion
2. 10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord) - Passion
3. I Give You My Heart - Hillsong

Practice is this Saturday, 3 - 5 AM. Please come on time, and please inform as soon as possible if you cannot make it.

God bless you!

Regards,
Ervin

Hey team!

So, the year is fast coming to an end, huh? It's been a good year serving together, and I'd like to take this brief opportunity to thank all of you for having been such superb team players! For all the passion and dedication ...... from the bottom of my heart, praying this fire will never die :)

Taking this opportunity also to include an all-too-familiar verse, but one which happens to hold a powerful promise, Matthew 6:31-33!

The theme for this Sunday's worship session is ......

YOU.

Not as in you, you, but as in God, You. It's important for all of us to realize who exactly is listening to our voices and music as we worship, who really is the object of all the affection we're proclaiming. The idea is that youths may be more spiritually attuned as in the songs, they refer to God as "You" instead of as a third person. It's to hammer home the point that they're not singing to no one in particular, but there's someone very specific they're singing to, and that someone, is of course Him :)

In the first song we want to recognize "You" as the King above Kings, and declare truths like "Nothing can overcome / the power of Your Name". That's recognizing Him for who He is.

In the second song we want to establish a relationship between "You" and us. That glory and power of His, we are waiting for, neither shaken nor moved.

In the final song we shall be reminded of how there's more to "You" than just glory and power, but also of His love and mercy, and while we wait, we'll also trust in Him, bring Him praise, and with all our souls, bless His name.

Summary: as the songs progress, "You" becomes more than just a powerful entity, with whom we don't really relate, and have a need to get involved with; in fact this "You" is someone we as Christians are waiting for eternal unity with, and this You is one who has influenced our life so much, and one we shall gladly praise and bless for all our days. The goal is to, through Sunday's worship, reduce the distance we may feel between "You" and us, by zooming in on how He is so personal to us.

Nope, no potatoes.

Songs for this Sunday are as follows:

1. Yours is the Kingdom - Hillsong
2. You'll Come - Hillsong
3. Till I See You - Hillsong

Practice is happening this Saturday, from 9 to 11 AM. Do not be late, and make sure thou know thy songs!

May His love shine so brightly in so many ways in your life throughout the week!

Regards,
Ervin
