VERY IMPORTANT DETAILS BELOW...PLS TAKE NOTE!

1. YF worship prac will be from 10am-12pm this sat. The prac time is set as such because there will be carolling prac from 1pm-3pm and then followed by the carolling at kids kingdom. So for those of you who are involved in the carolling pls remember to wear/bring along your green/red top, blue jeans and sneakers on sat.
2. The worship session this sun will be shorter because the youth will need to go down to the main service for carolling. We will start at 11.15am sharp and end latest by 11.45am. Carolling attire will be the same as sat's one.

3. If you cannot make it for the worship prac pls pls pls find a replacement ASAP and inform me through the "post a comment" section.

Hey everyone.

Just wanna share the video for this song, as we've sung it in YF today. Been blessed since 1st listening to it since I first listened to it in the beginning of last year. Below is the video of the song as per recorded in the "My Savior Lives" album by New Life Worship:



On a side note, the writer of this song (yes the same guy who's playing and leading, as seen in the video) is also the one who wrote some other songs most of us would know, such as: Hear Us From Heaven, Amazed (the one that goes: Lord I'm amazed by You...), I'm Coming Your Way, Promises, etc.

My Savior Lives by New Life Worship is available at local Christian bookstores. (Sadly, our church's B&T booth doesn't have it)

In view of the "Homosexuality (Ungay) Seminar" that will be held this Saturday from 10am - 3pm which a number of us including myself will be attending, I've duly decided our practice to commence from 8am-10am MORNING. I apologize for having it at such an early hour of the day. However, if anyone could not make it at this time or would like to suggest a more suitable time please leave a comment in this post (NOT IN THE CBOX PLEASE). But keep in mind that the chinese teen force will be using the youth hall from 3pm to around 5pm I think. In that case if any later hour will be in the evening or night (which is not recommended).

There will be a YF Worship Seminar thats gonna be held this coming Sunday (28/9/08) .Ps Ng Wah Lok will be coming to minister to our youth during the YF Sunday Service and then he would also minister SPECIFICALLY to all the YF Worship Members (Worship Leaders,Praise Singers and Musicians).

I hope that each one of you would be able to come for this seminar as he would touch on some of the important topics/issues/discussion that each one of us goes through.I believe each one of you will be tremendously be bless by him.

How is everyone doing?Hope everyone is doing GREAT =).

Alright~On 27th September,we are gonna have a special speaker to our YF service which is Ps.Ng Wah Lok =).If you don't know who he is,he is the author of the song:

"For everytime i pray,i move the hands of God"

Pastor Michael has also invited him specially to speak and encourage the entire YF Worship Team after the YF service at 2.30pm.Therefore,i believe its good that IF you have any TOPICS/ISSUE/DISCUSSION that you are interested to know or find out~We would encourage you to either post your statements in the "COMMENT" box together with your name (NOT the chatbox) or write it on a piece of paper and pass it to William or Matthew.

A Word of Encouragement

Dear all,

First of all,allow me to take this opportunity to say thank you all of you (Worship leaders,psalmists,musicians) for serving the Lord faithfully =).Thank you each for your commitment.It is very encouraging to see each one of you serving and practising weekend in and weekend out and leading the youth in worship on Sunday.I believe none of your serving are in vain but has bear fruits in one way or another =).

After seeing what God has done in our youth worship experience last Sunday and believing for a breakthrough in their worship life,i strongly believe God is bringing each one of us to another level of relationship and worship lifestyle with Him.I personally believe that God is going to do something great in our Youth Force Worship environment.

Could i suggest even for this sunday and for the sunday's to come,could i encourage all the Worship Leader who is going to lead to continue to encourage the youth to worship.Remind them why are they worshipping God...I know last sunday its not going to be a 180 degrees change for everyone but its a starting point to something even greater =).I would also encourage all of us in the worship ministry to pray for ourselves (to set our hearts right with God) and pray for the youths that each one of them would know how and why they worship God..Can?=)

Lastly,may i encourage all of us who are serving in one way or another in the Worship Ministry (whether it be Children Church,Main Service,Youth Force or Prayer Meeting)...Continue to serve the Lord faithfully and continue to focus our eyes on Jesus....Because He is the only reason why we worship =).

At the bottom of the screen, there should be a tab labelled "Children Church". Click there and VOILA, you'll see the CC Unit roster instead.

Dear all servants of God,

As we are gonna have Worship Experience at Youth next sunday,10 Aug 08...let us all get ready spiritually,mentally and physically (whether it be you are serving or not =) ).Hai Yen and I would be leading the worship.Pastor Michael and Joyce Ngeow would come out and share as well.

I would just wanna ask for prayer support from everyone of you guys and gals =):
1.Please do pray for Hai Yen and I as we choose the songs.Pray for both of us are all ready for this Worship experience.
2.Please do pray for the musicians and praise singers who are on duty next sunday.

Well it's not exactly a NEW drumset, it is the set which was in the 1st floor sanctuary. We got it now. Well the cymbal is gone though, 'cause there's no stand to place it on.

"God Of This City" - the story behind the song

Stumbled across this. God Of This City. Remember the song Andrew led in YF previously? It was from Passion's 2008 release - God Of This City. Initially I thought Chris Tomlin wrote the song but... Well, just found out today that it wasn't him. A group by the name of Bluetree wrote the song. And I also stumbled across the story BEHIND the song, so would like to just share it with you folks.

Nov 2007, Bluetree are heading out to Pattaya Thailand to participate in an event arranged by Belfast missionaries living in Pattaya, Thailand called Pattaya Praise. We’ve no expectation of the event; we were just looking for an opportunity to serve somehow.

We didn’t know much about it before we left, but Pattaya is a dark place. It’s a small seaside town notorious for it’s sex trade. Throughout our time there we heard countless stories of girls who are bought from their parents for a price, sold to the sex industry at ages as young as 5 years old. Arriving in Pattaya the spiritual climate seems to change, it’s hard to define, but there is a very tangible change. On the bus journey in we’d been our usual cheery selves, but entering Pattaya at 10am and turning on to a street lined by girls ready for business, the bus became very quiet. We’re in total shock. It’s a sunny day but it’s incredible how dark it feels.

’Walking street’ we learn is the epicentre of the sex trade in Pattaya, it’s about a mile long and at night springs to life with neon signs. Thai people are generally conservative in their dress sense – it’s generally considered provocative to bare your shoulders. But on their street the girls are wearing very little, and offering anything you can imagine for a price. It’s easy to look around with human eyes, see the depravity and get angry. You see older men walking hand-in-hand with young girls – as a daddy, that’s hard to take in. It’s easy to get angry, it’s easy to judge – but that’s not our job, so we grit our teeth.

We were in Pattaya to be part of a praise event not far from this street, the soul purpose of which was to worship and show God’s light in a dark place. We wanted to play more than the scheduled slots while we were there, so we found out that one of the bar owners would let us play a worship set in her bar on the proviso that we brought as many from the missions team who would buy coke-a-cola all night. We walk in to the bar which is about the middle of walking street, girls are lined up on the stairs waiting for business. We get set up, we’re really nervous and quite uncomfortable but we kick in to a familiar beat of worship and soon it’s ok. God starts to speak and we started to move in to this spontaneous song. The truth is when you worship in a place, you start to see God’s heart for that place. What would God say to a place like this?

Amidst the depravity God say’s, I’m the God of this City, I’m the King of these people and Greater Thing are Yet to Come, Greater Things are Still to be Done HERE. The song wasn’t written before that night, but we came out of the bar having worshipped with the song that is now the title track of our album – God of this City (Greater things). The song isn’t just for Pattaya – it’s for your city, and it’s true. By faith we must expect that greater things are still to be done.

No, this is not THAT Project R ;)

OK, we will be rebuilding our score archives. Yes, as most of you probably know (or have at least heard of), our files and scores are in terrible condition. A lot of scores are MISSING. For example, the whole set of "Hosanna" scores (with several copies of the score) went missing and well I had to go get another set. I wonder what happened to the one which went missing... Either someone TOOK it, or the sheets embarked on a journey back to Australia in search of their beloved Brooke Fraser... Oh well. Only God knows. And SO....

So we'll start off THIS week...

Time: 9.00a.m. - 12.00p.m. on Saturdays (kicks off this Saturday - 10 May 2008)

Upcoming Project

Dear all,

I'll be "cleaning up" the music score archive soon. It will not be a "one day" thing. Would appreciate it if you all could help out. Any volunteers? :)

The work will most probably take place on Saturday mornings. It is scheduled to begin in the next 2 weeks, and to be completed before the end of May. More details to come.

Though it was a joke, yet, it may become a reality if we do not take good care of our equipment. so let's take good care of our equipment which has been entrusted to us :)

Hail all...

Yes, we just stepped into the 2nd quarter of 2008 a few minutes ago (as i'm typing this)...

OK, i'll keep it short - we will b short of lots of equipment this quarter. as of now, the confirmed ones:
1. 1 keyboard (and it's amp) - the keyboard seems to be still "under loan" and has not been returned. The keyboard amp, on the other hand, is gone due to its constant "going to blow" condition (those who experienced it before will know what i'm talking about)
2. one guitar amp - our secondary guitar amp seems to have blown, so.... out.
3. cables - the cables used to connect between the equipment and the instruments seem to be "dead". so... worst case, we will also lose the bass guitar = no bassist.
4. mic cables - yes, for those who noticed, or have been told, the mic cables have been in "half dead" condition, currently all 4 are sent for "repairs", leaving us with.... nothing? well, nothing except our two wireless mics, so we're still... alive =)

if we dont get back our stuff by next week.. well, u can guess what's gona happen rite? IF the worst case scenario happens and we only have one keyboard and one guitar, little "juniors" will take over all the keyboards, seniors on break for this quarter... whereas the bassist and 2nd guitarist and 1st keyboardist can all be on break... and perhaps some on the vocals too... In short, we'll have less people serving on a particular week.

is that a yay or an "oh no" from you people?

For the remaining weeks in March, we will only have ONE keyboard (due to some complications)... So, out of the two keyboardists who are on duty, please, let the "junior" play lah, ok? The other keyboardist is required to attend the practice on Saturday to guide them though, so don't think you tak payah go for practice ya!!!

So all members, especially the WLs and keyboardists, kindly take note of this...
